Swan Hellenic's SH Diana Christened in Amsterdam
Singapore Cruise Society was invited to witness the Christening of Swan Hellenic’s brand-new SH Diana - A cozy Polar-Class 6 (PC6) cruise ship with room for 192 guests, made for exploring the world’s most culturally-diverse and remote regions.

Singapore Cruise Society is in Amsterdam to witness the christening of the SH Diana - the newest member of the Swan Hellenic family. The ship is the third in a series of three sister ships, built to carry on Swan Hellenic’s vision of culturally-enriching voyages, and to bring guests to see what others don’t.

The Christening Ceremony
As per a long-standing Maritime Tradition, a bottle of champagne was broken on the ship’s hull, to bring the ship, her crew and passengers good fortune and blessings. The ship’s godmother, Valerie Ann Wilson was present to cut the ribbon holding the bottle in place.
The Onboard Experience
At 124.9 metres (409.78 ft) in length, SH Diana is not the largest ship on the market. But what she lacks in size, she makes up for in bespoke, luxuriously-appointed facilities and accommodations. She was designed with extensive outside deck areas, multiple observation points and bright, open and relaxing public spaces with unobstructed views, embodying Swan Hellenic’s vision for immersive experiences.
Aboard, we were given an opportunity to tour the vessel’s facilities. Take a look at some of the pictures below:
Polar Class 6 (PC6) Hull; Latest Navigation and Propulsion Equipment
The ship (and her older sister ships) were designed with polar exploration in mind, and thus built to Polar Class 6 specifications, allowing the ship to operate in polar regions in the Summer and Autumn, and withstand ice up to 1.2 metres thick.
Complementing the strengthened hull is a suite of some of the newest and most-advanced navigation equipment available - a much-needed tool given the regions the SH Diana will operate in. And to move the ship forward, a state-of-the-art Diesel-Electric Propulsion System.

Luxuriously-Appointed Accommodations
SH Diana has room for 192 guests in a total of 96 staterooms. As the ship was fully booked-out on this cruise, we were only able to view the Accessible Balcony Stateroom.
Food & Beverage
At the Swan Restaurant on Deck 4, guests can enjoy fine dining, curated and prepared by the onboard culinary team. As part of the event, we were also treated to lunch in the restaurant.
We even had our own sommelier!
There were also other options for dining, like the Pool Bar & Grill, located near the pool deck on Deck 7.
Wellness Facilities (Spa, Gym, Sauna and Swimming Pool)
Guests can also enjoy wellness facilities like a heated swimming pool, a sauna, a spa and gym.

Relaxing Lounges
Get to know your fellow ship-mates at the Observation Lounge on deck 7! The Observation Lounge is an inviting and cozy place for guests to relax, and maybe make a few friends while surrounded by windows providing sweeping ocean views and scenic destination landscapes!
Cozy loungers and sofas are available by the large picture windows. Share the view with fellow guests! There’s plenty of room in these enclaves! PHOTO: SINGAPORE CRUISE SOCIETY
Equipped with AV Equipment, the space can also be used for presentations. PHOTO: SINGAPORE CRUISE SOCIETY
What makes SH Diana truly unique?
Swan’s Nest
Swan’s Nest on Deck 6 is the ship’s observation point. Located all the way forward at the tip of the bow, it provides one of the best views onboard. At the entrance to Swan’s Nest is a large archway.

Marina Deck and onboard Zodiacs
SH Diana also comes equipped with her own inflatable Zodiacs, allowing expedition-type exploration from the ship to landing points the ship’s expedition team have designated. These trips may come scheduled, or may come as natural attractions come into view! Boarding and disembarking the zodiacs is also made easier with the ship’s very own Marina.
