Anthem of the Seas FlyCruise - Day 10: Sea Day Walkabout | Journeys

Last chance for the tropical sun!

Today we start our three days voyage through the North Atlantic Ocean back to Cape Liberty! Today should be the last day the ship stays in tropical weather, with the temperature coming back down by tomorrow, hence many decided to spend the day out on the outer decks, enjoying the last few hours of tropical sunshine.

However, we don’t like the sun! So here is how we spent the day instead, walking-about indoors.

A different breakfast

Many will know the two main venues for breakfasts, the Main Dining Rooms and Windjammer Marketplace for buffet-style meals. However, what you may not know is that the Cafe@Two70 also serves breakfast!

Here on Anthem, the Cafe@Two70 has the fleet-wide favourite Breakfast Egg Muffins available, as well as bagels and other wraps available. Being all the way at the back of the ship, it has lesser foot traffic, allowing you to enjoy your breakfast away from the crowd normally seen at the buffet lines.

You could also grab the food back to your stateroom, or anywhere on the ship essentially! We settled down with the Egg Muffins and some wraps to start the day.

You can also order specialty coffee at the cafe inside, or just the complimentary ones at the entrance.

Meet the Stars

Anthem of the Seas has two shows up as of this moment - We Will Rock You and Spectra’s Cabaret. We got the chance to meet up with the singers and dancers of the two popular shows in the Two70 after breakfast for an informal Question-and-Answer session about the shows, and their life at sea.

They also shared their personal accounts of working on ships and how Royal Caribbean changed their life forever. If you are onboard, do not miss this chance to hear their amazing stories in show-biz.

Cheers with an Officer, or Pinnacle Lunch?

As Pinnacle Club members, we were invited for the ‘Cheers with an Officer’ luncheon at the Main Dining Room. It was our first time participating in such events, as it is only available on 5+ Nights sailings, and at this moment, Singapore only has 3- and 4- nights voyages.

We were joined by Captain Tony, Hotel Director Angel, and several other management level officers, and kicked off the lunch with a toast for great sailings ahead.

This lunch mainly had the intention of bringing together members who love Royal Caribbean, and allow them to chat over a meal, as well as meeting new members in the Club.

The menu was great, with good flow of beverages throughout the luncheon. We met two amazing couples during lunch, and that is the social element of cruising that we really appreciate and miss during the pandemic.

Walking Around

We were walking around the ship and noticed many were wearing different masks, as part of the new masking policies that kicked into effect today. You can read about it in our article here,
Many activities are still carried out as usual, Art Auctions, holiday-themed activities, and trivias are all conducted as usual.

Dinner at Coastal Kitchen

We have yet to try out Coastal Kitchen this cruise, and hence decided to make a reservation for tonight. Offering a similar menu as compared to Quantum, such as familiar dishes, Grilled Tofu and Cod fish were available tonight.

Good service & food at Coastal Kitchen, as usual!

Ugly Sweater Meet-Up

A quick cruise tip: If you are cruising soon, do look out on Facebook to see if there are groups that are created by your fellow guests on the same sailing. On it are usual cruise tips, and updates around the ship spotted and shared by people on the same sailing as you.

On our Facebook Group for Anthem’s 12 December sailing, someone kindly volunteered to host a ‘Ugly Sweater Meet-Up Session’, where everyone would dress up in their ugliest(?) holiday sweaters for a photo in front of the Christmas Tree in the Royal Esplanade.

Check out some of their outfits, simply amazing!
